ADAFSA on Thursday announces to shut down restaurant for food safety violations

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has closed the ‘Taste Master’ restaurant, located in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, citing serious food safety violations that posed threat to public health.

The establishment was found in breach of law governing food safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, along with related regulations.

According to ADAFSA, the decision followed repeated offences documented during inspections, which highlighted critical food safety risks. Inspectors reported multiple high-risk violations, including pest infestations, poor hygiene standards, and the sale of improperly labelled food products. Despite being issued three violations and two administrative warnings, the restaurant failed to correct its practices.

The closure will remain in effect until all issues are resolved and the restaurant meets the authority’s food safety requirements. Only then will it be allowed to reopen.

ADAFSA said that such enforcement actions are part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and uphold food safety standards across the Emirate. Routine inspections are carried out to ensure compliance from all food establishments, regardless of their size or speciality.

The authority also encouraged members of the public to report any food safety concerns or violations by calling the Abu Dhabi Government toll-free number 800555, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring safe, hygienic dining experiences for all.
