Parade of academies launches eighth edition at DWTC

Dubai: The eighth edition of Dubai Sports World (DSW) kicked-off with a parade of academies at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on Thursday.

The region’s largest indoor sports arena runs for 16 weeks from May 17 to September 8, with 18 sports and 10 academies.

The 25,000 square metres indoor air-conditioned venue includes; three pro-standard pitches for five-a-side football and rugby, three pro-standard pitches for seven-a-side football and rugby, eight basketball courts, three street basketball courts, 12 badminton courts, three tennis courts, two volleyball courts, cycling and fitness studios, a cricket pitch, a wrestling ring, a padel court, table tennis zone, 400-metre running track and a gym.

New to the venue will be gymnastics, street basketball, virtual golf, and laser shooting games spanning over 750 square metres.

Academies present include La Liga, Prestige Star Sport, IFA, Juventus, Tennis 360, Professional Sports, Deepika’s Badminton, G-Force and Just Play.
