Alison Muirhead: Sadly I moved the wrong way on ‘moving day’ at Dubai Moonlight Classic

With the Dubai Moonlight Classic being a three-round tournament with no cut, today was arguably ‘moving day.’ Sadly, I moved the wrong way on the leaderboard!

I shot a disappointing six over par 78 under the lights on the Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club, which leaves me on a 36 hole total of three over par in tied 45th place in a full field of 56 players.

It started with a bogey on my opening hole, number 15 for the second day in a row, and that was as good as it got!

I managed three birdies on holes 8, 10 and 13, but seven bogeys and a double made it a day to forget. My game just did not seem to click, but that happens in golf.

One positive was the fact I was at the top table of golf company, playing in a threeball with the number 33 in the ROLEX Women’s World Rankings, Moriya Jutanugarn and Aditi Ashok, who narrowly missed out on the play-off for the silver and bronze medals by a shot in this year’s Olympics in Japan.

To sum it up, it was a bad day at the office for me, but I can start afresh tomorrow. My strategy for the final round will be to attack, I have nothing to lose.
