That characterisation does not reflect the content of my column and does not do it justice. Any person who compares the contents of both comments will notice the difference. I have always pushed and argued for the US, European Union and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation to take the Gulf Cooperation Council states as a serious bloc and deal with us collectively and not as they have been dealing with us for over two decades on bilateral basis, and one by one as the US did when it signed the Free Trade Agreement with Bahrain and Oman or as Nato did when it signed the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative with Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE on bilateral basis.
