Mumbai: Southern actor Akhil Akkineni tied the knot with Zainab Ravdjee on Friday in a traditional ceremony held at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. The couple exchanged vows in the presence of close family and friends.

Star-studded guest list

Photos from the intimate wedding have surfaced online, featuring Akhil's parents Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni blessing the couple. Also present were Akhil’s brother, Naga Chaitanya, and his partner, actress Sobhita Dhulipala. Notable stars from the South Indian film industry, including Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and director Prashanth Neel, attended the event.

Elegant wedding attire

Akhil opted for a traditional and understated look in a simple pancha, while Zainab looked radiant in an ivory saree paired with diamond jewelry, soft makeup, and a floral gajra adorning her hair.

The couple has not yet released their official wedding photos.

Engagement and relationship

Akhil and Zainab got engaged in November last year. Sharing the news on Instagram, the Agent actor posted matching white ensemble pictures with the caption: "Happy to announce that Zainab Ravdjee and I are happily engaged."

The couple faced some social media backlash over their age gap and religious differences—Zainab is 39, while Akhil is 30. However, the duo remained unfazed.

Who is Zainab Ravdjee?

Zainab, an artist by profession, is the daughter of industrialist Zulfi Ravdjee. Reports suggest that the couple had been in a relationship for about two years before going public with their engagement.

What’s next for Akhil?

On the work front, Akhil is set to star in Murali Kishor Abburu’s upcoming film Lenin, opposite Sree Leela. The rural drama, set in Rayalaseema, is being co-produced by Annapurna Studios and Sithara Entertainments.
