Read the official statement from the agency below:
Hello.
This is Fantagio.
We would like to thank AROHA for their constant and unwavering support for ASTRO. Today, we have an important announcement regarding our artist Cha Eun Woo’s military enlistment.
Cha Eun Woo recently applied to serve in the Army Military Band and has received his final acceptance from the Military Manpower Administration. He is scheduled to enter the training center on July 28, where he will begin basic military training before carrying out his service in the band.
In order to avoid safety concerns or overcrowding on the day of his enlistment, we will not be disclosing the exact time and location, and no separate events will be held.
We ask for your warm support and encouragement for Cha Eun Woo as he faithfully completes his mandatory service and returns in good health.
Thank you.
The mandatory military service period for Korean men is approximately 18 months. Based on this, Eun-woo is expected to return by 2026. Needless to say, fans are miserable to say him go, and wish him the best, with many sharing crying emoticons.
