Abu Dhabi: Fresh after launching multiple new routes this year, Etihad Airways has reported a record-breaking nine-month profit of Dh1.7 billion (US$463 million), a 26 per cent increase from last year. This milestone marks the strongest financial performance in the airline’s history.

Etihad’s CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, hailed the results as a validation of the airline’s growth strategy. “We are expanding, elevating the guest experience, and maintaining focus on performance. Abu Dhabi’s position as a world-class destination is stronger than ever,” he said.

The airline’s revenue rose 18 per cent to Dh21.7 billion, driven by robust passenger growth.

Etihad carried 16.1 million passengers in the first nine months of 2025, an 18 per cent increase on last year, supported by a 17 per cent rise in flight capacity and an improved load factor of 88 per cent.

Fleet expansion

Fleet expansion also played a major role, with the operating fleet reaching 115 aircraft, including new Airbus A321LRs, Boeing 787s, and Airbus A350s. The introduction of the A321LR fleet set new standards for comfort on narrow-body aircraft, driving record customer satisfaction scores, especially in premium cabins.

Over the year, Etihad launched flights to 15 new destinations, including major cities like Atlanta, Algiers, and Addis Ababa, further strengthening Abu Dhabi’s connectivity. The airline now operates more than 100 destinations with close to 300 daily flights.

Operational efficiency contributed to a 27 per cent increase in EBITDA to Dh4.3 billion and a 40 per cent boost in cash flow from operations. “Our team’s dedication and our customers’ trust inspire us to deliver extraordinary experiences every day,” Neves added.
