Dubai: A fire broke out on Friday inside the Dubai Mall building in Sheikh Zayed City, Egypt, prompting a swift response from Giza Civil Defence teams, who successfully brought the blaze under control with no injuries reported, according to local authorities.

The fire originated in a hair salon within the mall and spread to adjacent shops. However, firefighters managed to contain the flames quickly, preventing them from reaching neighbouring buildings.

Security forces cordoned off the area while firefighters, supported by fire engines and two ambulances dispatched as a precaution, worked to extinguish the blaze.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was likely caused by an electrical short circuit. Forensic experts are currently examining the site to determine the full extent of the damage and confirm the exact cause of the incident.

The Giza Security Directorate has confirmed that legal procedures are under way and that the Public Prosecution has assumed responsibility for the investigation.
