Manama: Three Qatari brothers were killed and one seriously injured when their car overturned.

The fatal accident occurred at around 4pm when the driver reportedly lost control of the car, reports in the Qatari capital Doha said.

The brothers are believed to be aged between six and 16 and the driver did not have a driving licence.

The fourth brother, aged nine, is still in hospital.

Witnesses told local daily Al Raya that rescuers “had a hard time pulling out the bodies of the brothers from the car wreckage”.

The accident prompted residents in the area to press for the improvement of the road, claiming that it was fraught with hazards due to its narrowness and the lack of lights.
