Dubai: Two Omani citizens have died in a tragic drowning incident at Wadi Al Hoqain in the Wilayat of Rustaq, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) confirmed on Sunday.

Rescue teams from the CDAA’s South Al Batinah division responded to the emergency and successfully recovered both bodies from the water.

However, the victims had already died by the time they were found.

The cause of the drowning is still unclear, and authorities have not released further details on what led to the fatal incident.

This tragedy follows a similar case just days earlier in eastern Oman, where twin brothers, Al Hassan and Al Husain Al Masoodi, drowned while swimming in a pool at Wadi Bani Khalid — one of the country’s most popular natural attractions, known for its year-round flowing water and scenic rock formations.
