Dubai: Delhi Police have arrested a 25-year-old man accused of causing a fatal collision on Ring Road in South Delhi on Saturday morning, a report in the Indian media has said.

The accident on Saturday claimed the life of Sukhjit, a 28-year-old resident of Hisar, Haryana.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Surendra Choudhary said: “After examining footage from approximately 50 CCTV cameras and pursuing the accused for nearly 60 kilometers, a police team successfully arrested him.”

The suspect, Paras Pathaniya, a resident of Paschim Vihar, fled the scene after the accident, according to The Indian Express.

According to police the deadly crash occurred around 6:30am when Sukhjit was driving his Maruti Ertiga SUV from Dhaula Kuan toward South Extension. An Audi, driven by Pathaniya, crossed the divider from the opposite lane and collided head-on with Sukhjit’s vehicle.
