A bomb threat on the Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Shridham Express triggered panic among passengers on Sunday before security teams determined it was a hoax following extensive searches at multiple stations.

The 12192 Shridham Express, traveling from Jabalpur to Nizamuddin, became the focus of a security operation after authorities received an alert claiming an explosive device had been planted in the train's general coach, according to PTI.

Station Director N.P. Singh said the threat was first reported in Bhopal, prompting security officials to conduct inspections at every station along the route to Delhi.

The most thorough search took place when the train pulled into platform two at Mathura Junction at 10.02am. Teams from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and a bomb disposal squad with sniffer dogs combed through the general coach.

After the inspection turned up nothing suspicious, authorities declared the threat a hoax.

The train was cleared to continue its journey to Delhi, bringing relief to anxious passengers who had been held up during the security operation.
