Heavy rain causes flooding and disruptions in Mecca and Medina
Heavy rainfall continued to affect parts of the Mecca and Medina regions on Monday, causing significant flooding and traffic disruptions.
According to the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, other regions across the Kingdom also experienced moderate to heavy rainfall. Al Shafiyah in Badr governorate, Medina, recorded the highest rainfall at 49.2 mm, followed by Al Basateen district in Jeddah, which saw 38 mm. The ministry's report stated that regions including Mecca, Medina, Qassim, Tabuk, Northern Borders, and Al Jouf will continue experiencing rain through Tuesday, January 7.
