Fujairah: His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, officially inaugurated Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Fujairah on Tuesday.

The hospital is a flagship healthcare facility established under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Built at a cost of Dh843 million, the hospital is one of the UAE’s most advanced medical institutions and a testament to the country’s commitment to delivering world-class healthcare aligned with international standards. The project is part of the President’s broader initiatives to enhance national infrastructure and improve quality of life for citizens and residents alike.

Spanning 89,000 square metres, the facility currently houses 222 beds, with plans to expand to more than 350 beds. Designed as a tertiary care centre, it offers a wide range of specialised medical services. During the inauguration, Sheikh Hamad and Sheikh Mansour toured the hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities, including operating theatres, intensive care units, diagnostic laboratories, inpatient wards, and centres of excellence.

The hospital features three key centres of excellence — Burn Treatment, Rehabilitation, and Trauma Care — each equipped with cutting-edge medical technology to provide integrated, patient-centred care.

Sheikh Hamad praised President Sheikh Mohamed’s efforts to strengthen the UAE’s healthcare system and improve public wellbeing. He highlighted the hospital’s importance in meeting Fujairah’s growing medical needs.

Sheikh Mansour commended the President’s vision for sustainable development and healthcare transformation. “This hospital reflects our long-term strategy to enhance healthcare infrastructure across the Emirates and ensure access to world-class medical care close to home,” he said.

The hospital also plays a strategic role in building local medical talent. In line with the leadership’s vision, it offers training and educational programmes for Emirati healthcare professionals, helping to shape the next generation of medical leaders.

Operated by The Medical Office (TMO) under the PureHealth Group, Sheikh Khalifa Hospital is part of a larger hospital network in the northern emirates managed through the President’s Initiatives in coordination with the Presidential Court. TMO oversees strategic governance, innovation, and workforce development across the network.

Equipped with the latest diagnostic and imaging technologies — including CT, MRI, and tomography systems — the hospital also features modern laboratories and a 24/7 emergency and trauma unit with 30 beds, expandable to 60.

The facility includes 55 outpatient clinics, four royal suites, eight VIP suites, 45 general inpatient beds, 15 general ICU beds, 10 cardiac ICU beds, and a comprehensive burns unit with 10 patient rooms, five ICU beds, and a dedicated operating theatre.

The rehabilitation centre offers services such as speech therapy, audiometry, hydrotherapy, two hyperbaric oxygen therapy rooms, and prosthetic support.

Sheikh Khalifa Hospital operates 24/7 for emergency and inpatient care, while outpatient clinics run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, ensuring uninterrupted access to top-tier medical services.
