Sharjah: Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (Sharjah RTA) has completed a series of upgrades to Al Taawun Road, aimed at improving traffic flow and enhancing safety.
Among the key improvements is the addition of a fourth lane spanning 950 metres, which significantly boosts the road’s capacity and reduces congestion. Furthermore, a two-lane turning exit has been constructed to facilitate smoother access for vehicles coming from Al Nahda Bridge, streamlining traffic movement in this vital area by allowing motorists to turn left or make a U-turn.
To prioritise pedestrian safety, Sharjah RTA has also installed advanced traffic signals at designated pedestrian crossings. This addition is designed to ensure a safer environment for pedestrians while enhancing the overall functionality of the road network.
These upgrades are part of Sharjah RTA’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring the highest standards of road safety and efficiency. Such developments are essential as the emirate continues to expand, underscoring the authority’s dedication to fostering a modern and reliable transport system.
