Dubai Police launches comprehensive back-to-school security plan for academic year 2025-2026

Dubai Police, through its “School Security” initiative, has unveiled a comprehensive plan to welcome students back to classrooms for the 2025–2026 academic year, wishing students, teachers, administrators, and parents a successful and outstanding school year.

This year’s plan includes the deployment of 250 security and traffic patrols to secure school zones, supported by nine drones to monitor traffic flow and vital sites, six luxury patrol cars, four mounted police units, and 60 bicycles to enhance field presence. Additionally, 300 children will participate in the “Safety Ambassadors” programme, alongside 28 awareness programmes with the involvement of 15 partner organisations. More than 750 senior officers and police personnel will also directly engage with students as part of the initiative.

The details were revealed during a press conference held at the Officers Club in Al Jaddaf, attended by Brigadier Nasser Al Zarri, Acting Director of Dubai Police Academy; Dr Brigadier Abdulrahman Al Maamari, Secretary-General of Hemaya Council; Lieutenant Colonel Dr Ali Al Matroushi, Director of Child and Women Protection at the General Department of Human Rights; Captain Majid bin Saaed Al Kaabi, Head of the “School Security” initiative; Fatima Buhjair, Chairwoman of the Positive Spirit Council; as well as school principals across Dubai and senior officers.

Dr Brigadier Al Maamari emphasised that, under the directives of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the force is committed to making the educational environment safer and more interactive through innovative initiatives and field programmes targeting public and private schools across the emirate. He noted that field teams will visit 71 schools, including Hemaya schools, to engage with students and parents, raising both security and community awareness.

He added that Hemaya Council oversees a number of initiatives launched by the Hemaya International Centre, the Positive Spirit Council, the School Security initiative, the Safety Ambassadors programme, and the Naseej initiative, all of which integrate community and security efforts to instil discipline and awareness among students while building a positive, resilient generation capable of meeting challenges.

Brigadier Dr Al Maamari praised the joint efforts of all government and private entities in preparing for the school year, highlighting their teamwork in ensuring the highest levels of safety for students.

Captain Majid bin Saaed Al Kaabi explained that the initiative aims to enhance school security in collaboration with teaching and administrative staff, address emerging behaviours, and strengthen trust between students, parents, and the police through awareness lectures and activities.

He noted that the accompanying activities will feature 18 events, including road safety guidance, encouraging students to cross only at designated areas, introducing Dubai Police’s services and communication channels, as well as entertainment activities featuring the police mascot “Mansour”. Gifts and school supplies will also be distributed to students.

Captain Al Kaabi concluded by stressing that “the safety of our children is a shared responsibility”, with families, schools, and police working hand in hand to build a safe and motivating educational environment.
