Dubai: Dubai Police swiftly responded to a driver caught performing dangerous stunts and driving recklessly in the Al Marmoom area during rainfall.

The incident occurred despite repeated police warnings urging the public to exercise caution and adhere to traffic laws, especially during adverse weather conditions.

Reckless actions on the road

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, explained that patrol teams witnessed the driver engaging in illegal and hazardous behaviour.

“The driver’s reckless actions, including stunt driving and drifting, posed significant risks to public safety and disrupted the area,” he said.

In response, Dubai Police immediately impounded the vehicle and issued fines in accordance with Federal Traffic and Road Laws.

Additionally, the case was handled under Decree No. 30 of 2023, which mandates a fine of Dh50,000 to release an impounded vehicle, along with any outstanding fines.

Commitment to road safety

Major General Al Mazrouei emphasized that Dubai Police maintains a zero-tolerance stance on reckless driving, particularly actions that endanger lives and jeopardize road safety. He further stated that offenders would face severe penalties, including vehicle confiscation, legal summons, and potential prosecution.
