Indian expats in Dubai, Sharjah win Dh50K in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi draw

Abu Dhabi: Two Indian expats from Kerala, living in Dubai and Sharjah, have won Big Ticket’s weekly e-draw Series 277 in Abu Dhabi. Each of them has won Dh50,000 and their tickets are still in the running for the grand prize in the August 3 raffle draw.

Wins with a free ticket

James KP was at work when show host Richard called to deliver the good news.
“Dh50,000? Really?” said the 48-year-old technician from Dubai.
“I’m at work right now. I’ve been in Dubai for about 20 years.”

For the past six to seven years, James has been buying Big Ticket entries as part of a group of 20 colleagues.
“This ticket is shared among 20 people at the company,” he said, adding that he plans to buy a new mobile phone with his share.

The group had purchased five tickets through the ‘Buy 2, Get 3 Free’ bundle offer and it was one of the free tickets that turned out to be the winner.

‘We were hoping for millions’

Allwyn, one of James’ colleagues and co-winners, said they had long been hoping for a win.
“We love Big Ticket. We were hoping for millions, but not less, we have got something.”
Now, their eyes are on the grand prize.
“Big Ticket gives us hope that one day we can become millionaires, become somebody in life. We’re looking forward to winning Dh20 or Dh25 million,” Allwyn said.

A salesman from Sharjah

Meanwhile, Bipson Baby was also among the lucky winners with ticket number 259320. The 35-year-old expat, who works as a salesman, has been living in Sharjah for the past seven years.

He first learned about Big Ticket online in 2019 and has been regularly buying tickets on his own since then. He won with a ticket purchased on July 10 – a moment he described as a “great feeling.”

Bipson plans to save and invest his winnings and said he will continue participating in future draws.
