Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met with the top-performing graduates of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) on Monday at Union House in Dubai.

Congratulating the graduates, Sheikh Mohammed praised their academic excellence and commitment, noting that their achievements reflect the core values of the university and the UAE’s continuous pursuit of excellence in education and healthcare.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the importance of developing talent capable of driving the future of medical science and research in the region. “These graduates are key contributors to our vision of a world-class academic and healthcare system that attracts leading minds globally,” he said.

“We are proud of these accomplishments. This academic success is part of a broader national story—one focused on shaping the future by empowering exceptional talent in critical sectors,” he added.

Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted MBRU’s growing role as a hub for innovation and knowledge in healthcare. “The university has become a modern beacon of learning and a cornerstone for preparing the next generation of leaders in medicine and scientific discovery. It supports our wider goal of positioning the UAE as a global centre for knowledge and advanced healthcare,” he said.

The meeting was attended by key officials including Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Member of the Dubai Health Board of Directors and Chairperson of MBRU Council; Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority; Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of MBRU; Dr. Hanan Al Suwaidi, Acting Chief Academic Officer of Dubai Health and Provost of MBRU; along with other members of the MBRU Council.

The Class of 2025 includes 164 graduates from 30 academic programmes, representing 30 nationalities. Of these, 129 are women—including 52 Emiratis.
