From drones to dogs: Watch how Dubai Police ensured unparalleled security at Dubai World Cup 2025

Dubai: Dubai Police has once again demonstrated its capabilities in ensuring safety during massive events by securing the Dubai World Cup 2025 with a powerful combination of technology, strategy, and presence.

The high-profile event, held at Meydan Racecourse, attracted global attention as the world's most spectacular horse racing event, and Dubai Police played a pivotal role in ensuring its smooth and secure execution.

The official video released by Dubai Police showcases a comprehensive security operation involving advanced surveillance drones, AI-integrated control rooms, luxury patrol vehicles, dogs from K9 units, officers from the Search and Rescue (SAR) team and other teams spread across the venue and surrounding areas.

In a post shared on X on Sunday afternoon, Khalifa bin Obood Al Falasi, board member of Dubai Racing Club, also praised the team at Dubai Racing Club for their outstanding performance.

“Despite welcoming over 65,000 guests at the Dubai World Cup, the horse presentation area maintained the highest safety standards for both horse owners and horses, in a truly professional setup,” he pointed out.

Smart surveillance

Aerial shots highlight the sheer scale of the event, with tens of thousands of attendees in the venue which has a capacity of 80,000.

Officers are seen managing crowds, guiding traffic, and monitoring live feeds at the command centre. They are also seen conducting security screening of each and every person attending the event.

The visuals also feature state-of-the-art equipment, including smart surveillance tools, underscoring the force’s embrace of innovation. Police presence was evident from all angles—ground patrols and high-tech monitoring platforms—all seamlessly integrated under a proactive safety strategy.

Taking to X, Dubai Police stated: “Aligned with the vision of our wise leadership to foster excellence and innovation, the Dubai World Cup stands as the world’s most spectacular race, reflecting the UAE’s ambition for excellence.”

They added: “Dubai Police takes pride in securing this prestigious event through proactive strategies and cutting-edge technologies, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security.”

In another post with images of a male and a female police officer managing traffic, Dubai Police said: “Our dedicated police officers turn strategic plans into effective measures, ensuring safety and seamless traffic flow during the Dubai World Cup, one of the world’s most prestigious horse races.”

Addressing health, traffic issues

The video also showed police coordinating with the emergency response teams from the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and Dubai Health.

Meanwhile, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) introduced several measures to ensure smooth travel and efficient transportation options.

These included rerouting traffic, providing 5,000 parking spaces and operating free shuttle buses to the venue of Dubai World Cup 2025

While the event celebrated equestrian sport at its finest it also served as a showcase of the UAE’s ability to host global events with professionalism and future-ready security infrastructure.
