Dubai: A Dubai court on Wednesday sentenced two men to life and between three and 10 years in jail to four others involved in the kidnapping and raping of a 16-year-old Emirati boy.

The Court of First Instance found all six men guilty of deception and kidnapping of the teenager, who was raped after being promised a lift home by one of the convicts.

Two of the accused — M.A., a 31-year-old Yemeni and M.A. a 23-year-old Emirati — took turns in raping the teenage boy, court records revealed. M.A. the Yemeni will be deported after serving his time in jail.

Four other convicts, 25-year-old F.Y., 28-year-old Y.H., 27-year-old M.M. and 22-year-old M.A. — all Emiratis — were found guilty of sexually abusing and molesting the boy. F.Y., Y.H., M.M., will serve 10 years, while M.A, 22, will serve three years for luring the victim.

Victim's testimony

Court records showed M.A. accepted one convict's offer to drop him home since he knew Y.H. as a friend of his cousin.

According to M.A.'s testimony, Y.H. pretended that his car needed quick repairs, and asked the victim to guide him to the nearest garage, feigning being a stranger to the neighbourhood.

"I got into the passenger's seat and he took off. He stopped in a poorly-lit area and asked me to check if I had network on my phone. Suddenly he said that he liked me and wanted to have sex with me."

The victim then ran away and found one of the convicts. He recounted the incident to the convict, who then told the victim that "Y.H. is an animal" and that he'll be taught a lesson. "When I asked him to drop me back home, he asked me to wait a while. Then three others came to the garage. They told me not to be afraid and promised to take me home," the boy told the court. Prosecutors said the accused then took the drove the boy a deserted area and raped him.

The convicts later dropped him back home and warned him not to report to police.
