Dubai: The much-anticipated HBL PSL X is set to begin with a spectacular opening ceremony on Friday, April 11, at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium—a first for the venue to host the tournament's opening match and grand celebration.

The star-studded event will kick off at 7pm, leading up to the clash between Islamabad United, the defending champions, and the Lahore Qalandars, two-time winners of the coveted trophy. The first ball will be bowled at 8:30pm.

Six teams

The exciting tournament, featuring six teams, will be spread across four venues: Rawalpindi, Lahore's National Bank Stadium and Gaddafi Stadium, and Multan Cricket Stadium. The grand finale will take place at Lahore's iconic Gaddafi Stadium on May 18.

A show like no other

The opening ceremony promises a blend of traditional and contemporary performances. Renowned Sufi music legend Abida Parveen will take the stage, while pop icon Ali Zafar will deliver a cultural performance. Fans will also be treated to an electrifying contemporary set by the Young Stunners.

Top performers 

In a special treat for PSL fans, the singers of the HBL PSL X anthem—Abrar ul Haq, Ali Zafar, Natasha Baig, and Talha Anjum—will join forces for an unforgettable performance. A mesmerizing fireworks display will light up the night sky, setting the tone for an action-packed cricket season.

Tournament format & venues

The six-team event will span 34 matches, running from April 11 to May 18. Matches will be hosted across four key venues:

Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore: 13 matches, including two Eliminators and the grand final.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium: 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13.

National Bank Stadium, Karachi and Multan Cricket Stadium: Five matches each.

Additionally, three thrilling double-headers will be played, including two on Saturdays and one on Labour Day, May 1.
