In pictures: Neymar's Paris birthday bash causes PSG tensions

Paris St-Germain's star striker Neymar was out on Sunday night to celebrate his 28th birthday party with teammates and family at the exclusive Paris nightspot Yoyo in the Palais de Tokyo area of the French capital. White was the dress-code/theme for the evening.

Neymar's birthday is on Wednesday but he celebrated it early with players such as Leandro Paredes as PSG are playing Nantes in the French Ligue 1 on Tuesday evening.

PSG midfielder Marco Veratti was also in attendance, but one man missing was coach Thomas Tuchel, who called the get-together a 'distraction' ahead of the match against Nantes.

Tuchel's words did not deter PSG's Edinson Cavani from stepping out in the Parisian rain. The forward was a transfer target for many teams during the January window but he is staying with PSG for now.

Neymar Sr also showed up to wish his son all the best on the big day.

Stars such as Angel Di Maria were probably more worried about mud splashes on their white suits than a tongue-lashing from Tuchel as they are 12 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 standings

And Neymar's mother, Nadine, was also on hand to make sure the boys didn't get up to too much mischief.

The who's who of French celebrity were also out in the inclement weather, with fashion designer Olivier Rousteing wearing an expensive looking dressing gown.

Cavani may have felt a little embarrassed with his ripped jeans in such exalted company as Rousteing.

There was one interloper from a rival French team as Lyon's Memphis Depay showed up to party with his friend Neymar.

Despite the weather, the Brazilian's pulling power meant Yo-Yo was the place to be on Sunday night.
