People wade through a flooded street in Ajman. The UAE National Centre of Meteorology (NMC) has issued yellow and red weather alerts covering most parts of the country, especially in the coastal areas on Wednesday.

Exhibitors and visitors brave the rain at the Dubai Airshow 2019. In its daily forecast, the National Center of Meteorology stated: "Unstable weather will continue over the country, and weather will be cloudy in general with the presence of convective clouds over scattered areas, associated with rainfall of different intensities, with thunder and lightening at times and fall in temperatures."

Dubai witnessed heavy rainfall on Wednesday, causing poor visibility for drivers and an inconveniance to pedestrians in the city. The UAE Ministry of Interior has also issued a warning about possible hazards for motorists driving in the rain, especially in wadis and valleys.

A flooded area in Ajman. On their website, the NCM also said: "Fresh to strong winds and causing blowing dust and sand with the reduction of horizontal visibility at times. Rough to very rough sea especially with clouds activity, and that is until 22:00 Wednesday."
