Photos: First 'car-in' restaurant service launched in Kuwait after dine-ins banned

The Kuwait government has decided to impose a partial curfew for a month and extend the ban on entry of non-Kuwaitis into the country until further notice amid a record spike in coronavirus cases. Above, a Waiter serves food to customers in their car outside a restaurant in Kuwait City.

People have lunch in their cars outside a restaurant in Kuwait City. During the curfew, people can go to mosques on foot and pharmacies to buy medical supplies. At the same time, shops, cooperative societies, and markets are permitted to carry out their activities through only delivery service.

During the non-curfew period, people are banned from entering restaurants and cafes but can receive their orders through delivery service or inside their cars.

A deserted street in Kuwait city, as a nationwide curfew from 5 p.m. until 5 a.m., is imposed for one month to curb a sharp rise in coronavirus cases after Kuwait recorded its highest daily COVID-19 infection count.

The move, which restricts movement across the country from 5 p.m. in the evening till 5 a.m., will be effective from March 7 and will continue until April 8.

In an effort to vaccinate as many people as possible, the Ministry of Health announced it will continue inoculating people even during the curfew hours which began on Sunday and will be enforced everyday from 5.00pm to 5.00am for a month.

Kuwait Health Ministry said that 1,326 people were tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 201, 898, reported state news agency (KUNA).
