Check out the smart helmets that UAE police use to detect COVID-19

Smart helmets capable of monitoring those who may be infected with coronavirus are used by specialist police teams around the UAE.

A Dubai police officer wears a smart helmet as he uses it to check the temperature of workers in Dubai. The helmets will help authorities detect new cases and ensure that those who are infected are given medical treatment and put in isolation.

Police teams and patrols are using the helmet to diagnose people from a safe distance, enabling them to handle crowds, obtain vital readings, and analyse data.

The “super-intelligent helmets” are capable of monitoring the temperature of people within five meters.

Police will be able to use the helmets in various climatic conditions and outdoors, as well as in “unusual environments,” and they use thermal radiation based on smart technology.

World Security - the security solutions provider of DP World, UAE Region - had unveiled the Smart Helmet designed to make contactless detection of people potentially infected with COVID-19.

Police officers in Abu Dhabi have already been spotted using smart helmets. The helmet, which also has night vision, sends automatic alerts to the wearer if someone is found to have a temperature consistent with coronavirus.

Dubai Police is using smart helmet that uses thermal screening on people using public transportation in the emirate in a step to prevent spread of COVID-19.

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) had introduced the KC N901 smart helmet, which will be worn by its security personnel across Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), in line with its commitment to the safety and well-being of its community, and testament to its position as a proof of concept for smart technologies. The new Smart Helmet is designed to conduct a contactless rapid screening of the temperatures of single-persons, or crowds, in real time. The KC N901’s top functions that are utilized at DSO include efficient contactless temperature recording, rapid screening for both indoors and outdoors.
