Kuwait is celebrating 60 years since it gained independence from the British mandate. In commemoration of the special occasion, attractions across Yas Island have been illuminated in blue and will remain illuminated until February 25.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, conveyed his congratulations to the Kuwaiti Emir. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi was next to turn blue.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, sent similar greetings. CLYMB Abu Dhabi, the biggest indoor flight chamber.

Similarly, waves of blue lit up Warners Brothers in Yas World.

The UAE will host a series of distinguished activities to celebrate the annual National Day of Kuwait, which takes place on 25th February.

The celebrations will include Kuwaiti flag and decorating shopping malls in all emirates with congratulation messages, in addition to organising cultural events.
