Bollywood star Gauahar Khan's wedding festivities kick off

Bollywood actress and model Gauahar Khan is all set to transform this Christmas into one of her most spectacular and significant day of her life. She is all set to marry her fiancé Zaid Darbar on December 25 and the festivities have already begun.

The couple seems to have to taken an oath about not letting the pandemic dampen their spirits. The couple have kickstarted their wedding festivities with a ceremony known as Chiksa. The ritualistic ceremony, prior to the wedding, involves turmeric being applied to the bride and groom to ward off the evil eye.

Khan, who is known for her heightened fashion sense, hasn’t gone wrong with her sartorial choice for the Chiksa ceremony. To reflect their mood, the elated couple wore a pair of sunny yellow ensemble. Her fashion game was on-point as Khan poured herself into a shimmery long skirt and blouse, stocked at Maayera Jaipur. She teamed her outfit with a yellow organza stole with mirror work and floral embroidery.

It was clear that the Chiksa was less formal and a laidback affair than the ceremonies that will follow. Her choice of accessories – floral jewellery and earrings – reflected her casual, yet festive vibe.

The actress took to her Instagram to update her fans about her wedding celebrations along with a syrupy, personal note to her groom. “When half of me met half of you and together the better halves shaped our beautiful moments. #Alhamdulillah. Day 1 of #GaZa celebrations - Chiksa,” Khan wrote along with the wedding hashtag ‘GaZabKaHaiDin’,‘wedding bells’, ‘love’ and ‘together forever’

The groom Zaid Darbar, the son of legendary music composer Ismail Darbar, didn’t do too shabbily either. They were spotted dancing together robustly to danceable hits such as ‘Shaava Shaava’

Khan and Darbar, who dated for a bit, announced the news of their wedding date with aplomb. “This year 2020 has been anything but ordinary, and our love story through it all has been nothing short of extraordinary. It gives us immense joy to announce that we are tying the knot and embarking on a journey of forever! Keeping the current scenario in mind, we will be celebrating the big day with our family in an intimate ceremony,” said Khan.

The loved-up couple also revealed their zany side as they unveiled their whacky digital wedding card invite which showed the two in an autorickshaw surviving the Covid-19 with their love and romance intact. The short and adorable video chronicles their ‘lockdown love story’ and tracks how they met, proposed and when they decided to get hitched.

In the run up to their wedding on December 25, the couple also embarked on a dreamy photoshoot that showed the pair in beautiful clothes and smiles.

While Khan is more famous out of the two, Darbar has his own devoted social media following and is an influencer. He’s also an actor-dancer. The two met when Khan was making a TikTok video and they hit it off immediately. Before they decided to get married, they have constantly updated their fans about their close bond. The two have posted several dance videos to underline their friendship and bond.
