Sharjah’s beachfront is getting two new tourist attractions

The Sharjah Government owned Shurooq has lifted the veil on two new beach development projects - valued at Dh197 million - in Khorfakkan and within the city. The ‘Al Luluyah’ and ‘Al Hira’ projects combine to offer a bouquet of experiences for residents, tourists, and holidaymakers.

The facilities will feature caravan camping, a “swimming island” with slides, trampolines, nets and swing ropes, and a miniature swimming pool.

Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, Executive Chairman of Shurooq, said that the new developments support leisure, social interaction and a sense of community by offering residents “world-class amenities”.

The Al Hira Beach project will include a 3,300 metre jogging track, Islamic-style gardens, beachfront promenade, and cycling route.

The Dh110 million Al Luluyah Beach project, located on the eastern coast, and the Dh87 million Al Hira Beach project, will include facilities like playgrounds, restaurants, cafes and retail outlets. The Al Luluyah Beach includes a women-only beach and swimming pools.

Stretching across the 1.6 kilometre Luluyah coastline, the project will commence is scheduled for completion by November 2022.

A ‘Safe Beach’ will be part of the Al Luluyah Beach shoreline. A section of the low-lying beach waters will be completely cordoned off by wooden ramps and a boardwalk for children and parents to access this exclusive, child-friendly section.

An adventure beach, is being designed to feature a zip line station, climbing garden, leisure nets, loungers, resting stations and other water sports. There will be play areas and designated ones for panorama dining, and retail, and an outdoor cinema.

Thrill-seekers can enjoy a mountain coaster ride, explore scenic mountain paths on a fatboy bike, or enjoy zipline ride from the top of the mountain to the sandy shores of Al Luluyah Beach.
