Games, food, prizes: Things to do with the kids at Dubai’s Modesh World this summer

It’s go-time at Modesh World, which returns for its 22nd edition at Dubai World Trade Centre, at Sheikh Saeed Halls 1, 2, 3 and the Arena. The huge indoor entertainment event will remain in play until August 28, that’s most of the schools’ summer break. With interactive games, rides and activations, the pop-up sets itself up as the place to be with kids.

This time around, the event’s tagline is, ‘Modesh World. My world, your Adventure’. It’s open from Monday to Thursday: 10am to 10pm and from Friday to Sunday: 10am to 12am. Here’s a look at the things you can expect when you show up.

Legend Beauty Spa: Everyone likes a good pampering and this time around, it’s the kids’ turn. At this spa, they can get a number of treatments including facials, henna, face painting and colourful hair braiding.

Rides: The rides here cater to children big and small – and offer something for every temperament. Games include Twister, White jumping hills, Human Claw, Cartoon Convoy, Tea Cups, Crazy Fire, Pirate Ships, Crazy Pilot, Dragon train, Mushroom Train, Bungee Jump, interactive bouncing castle, inflatable shooting, Rodeo bull and Electric Bumper Cars to name a few.

Modesh village: Get the kids out on this obstacle course with their friends and you’ll find them giggling as they compete to reach the end in record time.

Get courtside: Here’s a chance for kids to grow their skills with practice; think basketball matches, kicking the bucket, ring toss, tic tac toe and the Pyramid Smash.

Arcade and virtual reality experiences: Have a more digital-craving kid in your midst? Why not try one of the 100 arcade games on the menu?

Winter at Modesh: Play with snow at Modesh World, which combines a snow park with obstacles and other activities.

Ibattle: Got an active kid? Get them involved in this shooting simulator game that allows kids over eight to do some target practice.

Diggers lab: This construction-based theme park is one for the whole family. Children can ride, drive and operate diggers, dumpers and other construction machinery here.

Swan Water Park: Take a boat ride with the little ones, aged three to ten, in swan-shaped boats.

Soft Play Area: Soft toys, slides and workshops await kids aged two to seven when you visit Modesh World. There’s also a large slide that dips the slider into a ball pit with 80,000 coloured balls (perfect for those between three and ten years of age).

20 Arts and Crafts Workshops: This event is not just about games and rides, enrol your child into a workshop where they can enjoy interactive work – and learn a new skill or two.

Modesh Café: Kids can graduate from the Modesh Baking Academy this summer – where they’ll get a chance to craft and consume a meal with mascots Modesh and Dana. The cafe also includes a dedicated workshop area that offers hands and crafts workshops, slime, and more!

Animal kiddie rides park: This edition allows children an immersive experience within a zoo-themed track. The one caveat? They must be over 90cm tall.

Novelty Machines: Here’s another thing that’s bound to garner attention. Grabber machines help you claim your prize. What’s on offer? iPhone 13, Apple Products, Headphones, iPad and Samsung Tablets, PS5, etc.

Ice Alice - VLT Vending Service: Singapore’s first Mannequin Artificially Intelligent Robotic Vending Machine is on site. It communicates and interacts with customers using recognition and sensory tools throughout the entire process up till collection of selected soft serve, soft drink and coffee.
