‘FUTURE HEROES’ INITIATIVE WILL HELP STIMULATE YOUNG MINDS: The all-new facility that has been opened only for children at the Museum of the Future in Dubai is very welcome. Designed for kids under the age of 10, the ‘Future Heroes’ level is indeed a fantasy world, serving to stimulate the imagination of young minds and help them to boldly embrace a future full of possibilities. FINALLY , A SUMMER FOR TRAVEL, BUT…. Emirates airline expects to move up to 550,000 passengers through the summer breaks and holiday trips over the weeks of June and July, and making sure to have 1 million by way of seating capacity available for them. This then will be the summer when travel puts on some serious heft, with memories of restrictions and various checkup requirements receding into memory. And on Monday, IATA, the air industry grouping, confirmed that airlines would make headway dropping their combined losses to $9 billion against upwards of $40 billion last year. Here too, summer travel will provide ballast in getting airlines closer to breakeven – and profits. Against this backdrop, the news from the UK comes across as a spoiler, with more airlines announcing cuts to their summer schedules. Recovery for the airline industry after the kind of hit the pandemic created needs to be on an even keel. If the UK airlines and authorities are going slow on the recovery path, it won’t help. ENGLAND’S FITZPATRICK WINS US OPEN: Matt Fitzpatrick claimed his first major title after winning the US Open in a thrilling final day. The 27-year-old held off the best players in the world at Brookline to claim a one-shot victory to become just the third Englishman in over 50 years to win golf’s second oldest major. It was a gripping battle between world number one Scottie Scheffler and Will Zalatoris which went all the way to the final hole. “It's what you grow up dreaming of,” said Fitzpatrick who was mobbed by his mum, dad and brother on the green. “It’s something I’ve worked so hard for for such a long time. MEGHAN, DUCHESS OF SUSSEX IS BACK HEADLINES OVER A NEW REPORT: Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is back in headlines after a report claiming that she was investigated by some members of Buckingham Palace for allegedly bullying a staff member was leaked. The Sunday Times of London published details claiming they’d been told by sources with direct knowledge that the investigation launched last March into allegations that the Duchess had bullied her Kensington Palace workers has wrapped, which had resulted in changes to the “policies and procedures” governing treatment of staff for the monarchy. However, the report had been buried, as per sources, prompting supporters to rally around Meghan while lending voice to their frustrations online. Despite Prince Harry and Meghan stepping down as working royals and moving to the US, the past continues to haunt them. Maybe it’s time to close the chapter on this and move on.
