Exposed wires could lead to a mishap

Gulf News reader Mohammad Zeeshan took this photograph in the Industrial Area 2 in Sharjah. He said: “An electric box on a lamp post has been left open and the live wires are all visible, as seen in the picture. There is a small gap on both sides of the pole, enough for pedestrians to try to cross through while crossing the road, because there is no proper pedestrian crossing nearby. Sometimes, I’ve noticed young children trying to cross the road, too. If anyone touched these wires by mistake, it could lead to a tragedy. Additionally, if water were to go inside the box or humidity settles on the wires, it could cause a short circuit. I request the authorities to take immediate action to ensure the safety of the pedestrians.”
