When it debuted in concept form at the Geneva show in 2011, the Alfa Romeo 4C left us drooling at its stunning good looks. And now our trusted spy has snapped the near-production ready version of the Italian beauty being tested in snow, although wrapped in camo.

It’s heartening to see that the prototype is not very different from what the gorgeous concept promised, but for a few minor changes outside, like smaller doors, visible handles instead of the hidden ones on the concept and different wing mirrors.

Although not many details are out, Alfa has revealed that the 4C will be powered by a 1.75-litre turbocharged fourcylinder engine that’s good for “over 200 horsepower.”

Given the car’s projected weight of less than 900kg, this should be plenty. Alfa has recently taken a renewed interest in our region, so we can expect the 4C to show up here some time soon after its global launch, hopefully at Geneva.
