Coronavirus: 8 Simple yet effective tips to protect your home

A DISINFECTING DOORMAT: At our home, we place a towel covered with disinfectant on the floor at the front door. If anyone goes out and needs to come back inside, they must step with the soles of their shoes on the disinfecting towel.

TOSS AWAY ANY POTENTIAL RISKS: Throw away any medical mask or gloves that you’ve used while you’ve been out, presumably only getting essentials.

WIPE IT ALL DOWN: A packet of disinfecting wipes at the door. The first thing that anyone needs to do once they walk in. Wipe down hands, phones, keys, followed by the door handle.

KEEP ON WIPING: Regularly wiping down surfaces at home. Even if you’ve been home for the past two to four weeks, the virus could potentially still make its way inside if you’ve ordered delivery, or got something from the grocery store.

HOT SHOWER: Take off all your clothes and take a warm shower with soap. Don’t put your hand on your face until you’ve washed it properly.

EDUCATE YOUR KIDS: Talk to your kids. It’s important to explain to the kids why they are experiencing what they’re experiencing. You don’t have to use words like coronavirus. It can be as simple as: “There are germs out there that we aren’t allowed to be near or touch.”

CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF YOUR SNEEZE: We will still continue to sneeze and cough, since we are, well… human beings. To be extra safe though, make sure you only sneeze or cough into your elbow rather than your hands.
