Shrek 5 teaser out: Zendaya to play Shrek’s daughter

Dubai: The Shrek 5 teaser is out, revealing that the latest addition to an A-list cast of Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy is none other than Spider-Man star Zendaya, one of the most popular young actresses in Hollywood today.  

Zendaya, who is already busy with shoots for Dune: Messiah, Season 3 of Euphoria, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and the fourth Spider-Man movie, will play Felicia, the daughter of Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) and Fiona (Cameron Diaz). 

The clip shows Shrek, Donkey, Fiona and Felicia asking a magic mirror, “Who’s the fairest of them all?”

The mirror responds, “Why Shrek, of course.” We then see a series of images: Shrek making a duck face whilst wearing glasses, Shrek in a skintight bodysuit as well as a doctored Shrek with abs.  

The last image prompts the response “Ew, dad” from Felicia. 

Fans' reactions to the teaser have been mixed, with some commenting that they don’t particularly like the animation style of Shrek 5. 

Shrek 5 is slated to release on December 3, 2026. It’s the first installment of the 25-year-old series since 2010’s Shrek Forever After.
