Dubai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received yet another death threat, this time via WhatsApp, prompting a fresh investigation by the Mumbai Police.

According to a report by India Today, a threatening message was sent to the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police in Worli on Sunday. The message claimed that the sender would assassinate the actor by entering his residence and also threatened to plant a bomb in his car. A case has been registered at the Worli Police Station, and the sender remains unidentified at this stage.

This is not the first time Khan has faced such threats.

In April 2024, two individuals, allegedly associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's network, fired shots outside Khan’s Bandra residence in a clear attempt to intimidate him. Subsequent investigations by Navi Mumbai Police uncovered an elaborate plan by the Bishnoi gang to target Khan while he traveled to his Panvel farmhouse, according to a report in Indian Express.

In response to ongoing threats, Salman Khan has significantly increased his security. He has been issued a gun license for personal protection and has upgraded his vehicles to include a bulletproof SUV, as confirmed in various media reports. Despite the looming danger, the actor has continued with his film commitments.

On the career front, he has just rolled out his Eid 2025 action film Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi. The high-profile project hit cinemas on March 30, 2025.

Mumbai Police have assured that all precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of the actor and those around him. Investigations into the latest threat are ongoing.
