It’s been a while since we’ve seen Kim Seon-ho as a romantic lead, but When Life Gives You Tangerines didn’t keep us waiting too long. Fans had been buzzing about his rumoured cameo, and to their delight, it wasn’t just a blink-and-miss moment—he played IU’s love interest. His first scene instantly grabbed attention, showcasing him in a fun yet frantic light as he hid in Geum-myung’s (IU) room to avoid his girlfriend Bu-seon’s (Jung Yi-seo) disapproving father. By the series’ end, we see him not only marrying Geum-myung but also forming a heartfelt bond with her family.

Grateful for the overwhelming love he received for his cameo, Seon-ho shared his thoughts through his agency, Fantagio, saying, “I joined the sparkling world of When Life Gives You Tangerines with a fluttering heart. It was an honor to become part of a story that flows through time and changes with the seasons. Like Choong-seob (his character), I will continue to live as someone who remains humble and true to his beliefs. To the director, writer, staff, and actors—thank you.”

Now, Seon-ho is gearing up for his next drama, Can This Love Be Translated? The series follows the unexpected yet heartwarming romance between Ju Ho-jin, a talented multilingual translator, and Cha Mu-hee, a dazzling top star. As their careers intertwine, sparks fly, leading to a journey filled with surprises and emotional twists. Written by the renowned Hong sisters—creators of Alchemy of Souls, Hotel Del Luna, The Greatest Love, and Master’s Sun—this promises to be another captivating adventure.
