"We wanted to build it from scratch," says Reshma — and it shows. In a city that loves its sparkle, Reshma and husband, who are into the construction industry, plays it cool — and wins. High ceilings and open spaces are a mainstay in this mansion. "The double-height ceilings are nine metres tall," Reshma says proudly. Throughout the rest of the house, they maintained a minimum of four metres of ceiling height — making the home feel spacious and full of light. "We wanted openness and peace," she adds. The soaring architecture was a deliberate choice, creating dramatic yet calming spaces where natural light floods in. Floor-to-ceiling windows, massive in size and weight — "each glass panel weighs one tonne," she notes — ensure that the house feels open, connected to the outdoors, and always bright without needing artificial light during the day.

"We personally selected everything — from the marble to the window frames," Reshma says. Their attention to detail extended globally; they traveled to Milan for eight days, visiting factories and meeting suppliers. "They have beautiful pieces, but it has to match your home," she explains. Instead of buying off-the-shelf, they customised furniture to fit their home's palette and vibe. Every piece was thoughtfully chosen to maintain the understated elegance they envisioned. "We even use the outdoors late in the evenings," she adds. But it’s not just the pool — Reshma made sure water is everywhere. "We made sure that even from the gym, you can see the blue water and the green grass," she says. For her, blue is essential. "Blue is always pleasing," Reshma explains, capturing the peaceful energy that flows through the home.

Reshma’s Dubai home follows a clean, minimalist style — but her rooftop lounge breaks away beautifully. "I wanted a Greek kind of living on the roof," she says, describing the crisp white and blue retreat. It’s a striking contrast to the darker, more dramatic tones used in her formal living room, where "we kept it a little loud," Reshma adds. While the interiors are subtle and streamlined, the rooftop embraces a lighter, breezier mood. Why battle traffic when you can have the best views at home? "On a clear day, we can also see Burj Khalifa from our eyes," says Reshma, describing her rooftop terrace. New Year’s Eve is sorted — no crowds, no chaos, just front-row seats to fireworks lighting up the Palm and Downtown. "You don't have to go anywhere to see the fireworks," she adds. Designed to open up during good weather, the terrace is perfect for quiet evenings or impromptu celebrations. It's one more reason her home feels like a private slice of Dubai’s skyline — simple, stunning, effortless.

The bedrooms at Reshma Praveen’s home continue the theme of peaceful, open living. "Each room or each zone has been created differently," she explains. "When you sit in different parts of the house, you get a different feeling — calm, quiet, and facing the water features." Designed to maximize light and views of greenery and water, the bedrooms reflect the same understated luxury that runs throughout the home. Even though one of her sons now lives abroad, the family still uses every room, creating zones that feel personal yet connected.

When it came to designing her sons’ rooms, Reshma kept things practical and stylish — just the way they wanted. "My elder one was very particular that he wanted wooden flooring," she says. Reshma and her husband agreed, making sure his space reflected his taste. His bedroom now feels more like a teen’s retreat, with leather touches and rich wooden textures creating a cosy, functional vibe. Fuss-free and masculine, the boys' rooms contrast with the open, airy feel of the rest of the home — a reminder that every corner of the house was designed with real living in mind.

Reshma’s dining area is designed for real gatherings — functional, with clean lines and a relaxed, welcoming feel. Overlooking the space is a sleek coffee bar, perfect for casual moments with family and friends. "We love having people over," says Reshma. "Whenever relatives or guests visit, we love serving Mangalorean food — it’s part of who we are." Whether it’s breakfast around the coffee bar or a festive spread at the dining table, the space reflects her easygoing approach to hosting. Elegant yet lived-in, the dining area is built for connection, laughter, and plenty of good food.

Reshma's Dubai home is a five-bedroom villa, but the design could easily have allowed for more rooms. "We were particular that every room should have its own space, rather than making it cramped," she says. Natural sunlight was a key priority, with large windows and open zones flooding the house with light. Reshma, who loves to keep her home neat and clean, made sure not to clutter the interiors. "One mistake people make is stuffing too many things," she explains. Her home reflects that thoughtful restraint — airy, organised, and designed to feel both beautiful and breathable.

"We wanted the house to be kids-friendly," says Reshma. During Indian festivals like Diwali, the garden transforms into a vibrant party hub, complete with DJs, live acts, and festive lights. It’s not just reserved for big occasions — in the cooler months, the family often hosts casual sundowners, making the most of Dubai’s perfect evenings. Designed to feel open, welcoming, and full of energy, Reshma’s outdoor spaces reflect her love for creating memories with loved ones under the wide Dubai sky.

Marble plays a starring role in Reshma’s home, where every detail has been thoughtfully selected. The flooring across the villa is laid in Spanish marble, carefully book-matched to create flowing, mirror-like patterns that enhance the sense of space and elegance. In the formal living room, Reshma added a striking feature — an inline marble artwork crafted from Carrara marble, seamlessly embedded into the wall.
