Genesis ranks highest in overall vehicle dependability among all brands, with a score of 89 PP100 (Problems per 100 vehicles). The genesis G80 is the highest ranked model in the Midsize Premium Car segment, winning over the Audi A7 and the Audi A6. Incidentally, this is the first year Genesis has been included in the study.

The Lexus ES is the highest-ranked model in the 2020 study, and tops the Compact Premium Car segment beating the BMW 4 Series and the Lexus IS. In fact, the ES' score of 52 PP100 is the best ever recorded in the 31-year history of the study.

The most dependable Small Premium Car is the BMW 2 Series, followed by the BMW i3.

The Nissan Leaf is the first all-electric model to receive a segment-level award from J.D. Power, becoming the most dependable Compact Car.

The Mazda MX-5 Miata beat the Mini Cooper to the title of the most dependable Compact Sporty Car

The Honda Jazz ('Fit' in the US market) tops the Small Car category. the runners up in the segment are Chevrolet Sonic and Chevrolet Bolt.

The Ford Mustang is the most dependable Mid-size Sporty Car

Toyota's Avalon was rated higher than all other contenders in the Large Car category, which also included the Chevrolet Impala.

In the Small Premium SUV category, the Mercedes-Benz GLA trumped the Audi Q3 and the BMW X1 to become the most dependable model.

Chevrolet Equinox is the most dependable model in the Compact SUV segment, beating the GMC Terrain and the Toyota RAV-4

In the Compact Premium SUV category, the Lexus NX and the BMW X3 are runners-up behind the Porsche Macan.

Lexus topped the Midsize Premium SUV category as well with the GX relegating the Cadillac XT5, Lexus RX, and Mercedes-Benz GLE to a tied second place.

The Large Light Duty Pickup category saw the Ford F-150 share the top spot with Toyota's Tundra.

The most dependable Large Heavy Duty Pickup is the Chevrolet Silverado HD, followed by the GMC Sierra HD, and the RAM 2500/3500.
