For those who know their Firebirds, this one is the Turbo variant - the raised intake on the bonnet is the giveaway - but those blown 4.9-litre V8s were not the most powerful motors. This one, however, has been tweaked to provide a few more horses over the stock engine...

From the factory, it made 210 horses and 468Nm of torque which may not seem like much today but due to emissions laws in 1980 this was one of the most potent performance cars you could buy. Anyway, this restomod has an output of 300 horses thanks to a larger turbocharger, a new fuel pump, and an electronic fuel injection system.
