Sleepover on a dhow

The 2nd Dubai Brownies had an unusual time recently sleeping on a dhow. The sleepover was part of an Adventure Out badge, which is only available this year.

They were joined by some members of the 3rd Dubai Brownies and all arrived at the dhow on Thursday evening with sleeping bags and kit. The evening started with a meal, provided by the Airport Hotel, and a two-hour cruise along the creek.

As night fell it was time for some singing which attracted much interest from passersby. Then it was time to sleep. The Brownies settled down for a story and then lights out.

The Brownies slept well, which was not the case for Brown Owl, Liz Smith, who paced the floor ensuring no one fell overboard.

In the morning after a quick breakfast the parents arrived and took their tired Brownies home. A good time was had by all, thanks also to Suntours for donating the use of the dhow.
