Dubai: Dubai Police have asked motorists to comply with traffic regulations and avoid illegal parking near mosques during Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers during the last few days of Ramadan.

They have warned that parking vehicles on the roads disrupts traffic flow, especially in residential areas.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, stated that traffic patrols will be intensified in coordination with the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency and police stations.

“Patrol teams will secure prayer areas, manage traffic flow, and redirect vehicles if congestion occurs to ensure road safety and smooth movement,” he said.

Common violations

Major General Al Mazrouei said common violations include:

• Illegal double parking, preventing other vehicles from exiting.

• Parking on sidewalks, obstructing pedestrian movement.

• Blocking entire traffic lanes, especially near intersections and busy roads.

• Extended stays at mosques after prayers, causing parking congestion and delaying others from leaving.

He emphasised that traffic patrols will be deployed to manage mosque parking areas, prevent traffic jams, and assist worshippers in entering and exiting smoothly and safely.

Dubai Police also urged the public to be considerate of other road users and cooperate with authorities to maintain a safe and organised traffic environment during Ramadan’s final nights.
