Ajman announces flexible hours from July 1 under the “Balanced Summer” initiative
Ajman: The Ajman Government, led by His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, has approved the “Balanced Summer” initiative during a meeting held on Monday at the Government Offices in the Ruler’s Court.
The initiative is part of the “Year of Community” efforts and aims to promote a healthy balance between work and personal life, enhance employee well-being during the summer months, and strengthen family connections.
As part of the initiative, all government employees in Ajman will work remotely on Fridays, with 100% remote work in effect from July 1 to August 22, 2025.
Additionally, working hours from Monday to Thursday will be reduced from eight hours to seven hours, running from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.
The government will ensure the continuity of essential services through flexible internal arrangements.
The initiative is designed to support work-life balance, address the challenges of the summer season, and maintain uninterrupted delivery of key services. It also seeks to ensure efficient performance and smooth public operations.
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi emphasised that the Ajman Government, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, is committed to fostering a flexible and supportive work environment that meets both professional and social needs of its employees.
The Crown Prince of Ajman highlighted that family and social stability for employees is a key part of the emirate’s development journey.
He added that the well-being of people will always remain a top priority, as it is the most important factor in enhancing institutional performance and improving the quality of government services.
He also noted, “Through the ‘Balanced Summer’ initiative, we aim to contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing daily commuting, which supports the goals of Ajman Vision 2030 in building a more balanced and sustainable society.”
The Human Resources Department, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, will oversee the implementation of the initiative.
They will also develop internal frameworks and submit an evaluation report by the end of September 2025 to assess its impact on performance, employee satisfaction, and community happiness.
