Ajman: Ajman Police has launched its first sub campaign of the year titled “Pedestrian Safety”, reinforcing its commitment to reducing road accidents and protecting lives.

The initiative, organised by the Traffic and Patrols Department, began on February 9 and will run until the end of March as part of the force’s 2026 traffic awareness plan. The campaign seeks to strengthen road safety culture, minimise pedestrian-related accidents, and create a safer traffic environment for all road users.

Lieutenant Colonel Fouad Yousef Al Khaja, Head of the Traffic and Patrols Department, said the campaign is part of Ajman Police’s continuous efforts to raise awareness among all segments of society.

He stressed the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations, particularly the proper use of designated pedestrian crossings and maintaining full attention while crossing roads. Motorists, he added, must reduce speed near crossings and give priority to pedestrians.

“Pedestrian safety remains one of our top priorities,” Lieutenant Colonel Al Khaja said, noting that the campaign will include on ground awareness programmes, distribution of educational leaflets, and digital outreach through social media platforms and the official website.

Ajman Police will also work closely with strategic partners to ensure the message reaches the community members.

Lieutenant Colonel Al Khaja called on members of the public to cooperate with the campaign and strictly follow traffic guidelines, emphasising that road safety is a shared responsibility requiring collective commitment from both drivers and pedestrians.
