The moon-sighting committee had called on Muslims to look for the crescent of Shawwal

Abu Dhabi: The International Astronomical Centre said that it was impossible to sight the crescent of Shawwal Saturday, April 30, meaning that Sunday, May 1 is the last day of Ramadan, and Monday (May 2, 2022) would be the first day of Eid.
In a statement issued on Saturday morning, the center said it has been barely able to spot the crescent marking the end of Ramadan, which means it will be impossible to sight the crescent of Shawwal from all countries of the Islamic world.
However, the UAE moon-sighting committee had invited all Muslims in the UAE to sight the crescent of the month of Shawwal on Saturday evening, Ramadan 29, 1443 which corresponds to April 30, 2022.
