Dubai: A young Saudi man has turned the roof of his house into a nature reserve with more than 200 birds of 40 species, local Saudi media has reported.

The 34-year-old Bashar Al Shuraim, who lives in Al Shefa neighbourhood in Riyadh, said that his passion for birds was the motive behind transforming his roof into a bird conservation area.

Al Shuraim offers children and their families an opportunity to visit his small bird reserve to have fun and enjoy the beauty of his birds. In an interview with Saudi state TV, Al Shuraim spoke about his passion for birds and the initiative to turn his house top roof into the bird conservation.

He said: “Children and their families are allowed to visit my small reserve six days a week for free and enjoy their time.”
