Abu Dhabi: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs has said the proposed mechanism to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement is a qualitative shift to a stage that contributes to unifying ranks and activating state institutions to serve the Yemeni people of all walks and meeting their living needs.

In a tweet posted today, Adel Al Jubeir pointed out that this mechanism supports the efforts of the United Nations to reach a comprehensive political solution to the crisis in Yemen.

A coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened in Yemen in March 2015, after the Houthis ousted the internationally-recognised government in Sanaa.
