Dubai has launched a new digital service that allows residents to obtain an international driving permit within minutes, Emirates Al Youm reported.

The Dubai Digital Authority announced that users can now issue the permit instantly through the Dubai Now app for a fee of Dh177.

Launched in partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the service enables travellers and motorists planning to drive abroad to complete the entire process digitally, without visiting any customer service centre.

According to the platform, users can access the feature under the “Driving Licence” section of the app, submit the required details, and receive the permit immediately.

The system brings together several services within a unified digital ecosystem, reflecting one of the key goals of Dubai’s ongoing digital transformation strategy.

The initiative supports the emirate’s wider efforts to expand its digital government offerings and deliver smart, convenient solutions for residents. It aims to reduce paperwork, shorten processing times, and improve the overall experience for travellers by enabling instant issuance and flexible collection options.
