Dubai: Airlines operating from the UAE continue to adjust schedules amid renewed tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, security concerns across the Middle East and ongoing regional disruptions. Passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia and other destinations are facing cancellations, suspended routes and changing flight schedules.

Meanwhile, French prosecutors have opened an investigation into false bomb threats targeting dozens of commercial flights across Europe over the past week. Investigators are examining whether foreign powers could be involved. The threats triggered flight diversions and operational disruptions, although no suspicious items were found and no injuries were reported.

Passenger advice for UAE travellers

Check flight status directly with your airline before leaving for the airport. Schedules can change at short notice, and a confirmed booking does not necessarily mean a flight is operating as originally scheduled.

Zayed International Airport (AUH): Travellers are advised to arrive early, particularly during the Diwali rush, and check their airline’s website for the latest flight updates before heading to the airport. The airport is also hosting Diwali celebrations from November 7 to 11, featuring festive activities and a treasure hunt offering visitors a chance to win a gold bar. UAE residents can join without a flight ticket but must obtain an airport visitor pass and pre-book an entry slot.

What UAE travellers should do before flying

The situation remains fluid, particularly for Saudi routes and destinations affected by regional airspace restrictions. A flight appearing on a booking platform or itinerary should not be treated as confirmation that it will operate as planned.
