Dubai: Kuwait health ministry have announced on Wednesday that three new cases have been detected in the country taking the number up to 70.

Ministry of health spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad in a press confrence said that one of the infected had a travel history to Iran , and the other two cases an Egyptian and a Sudanese were in contact with an earlier case that got infected in Azerbaijan.

Adding that from the total cases there are five in critical conditiona and are kept in Intensive care, while two have been cured.

Al Sanad told reporters that 6620 tests were conducted nation wide, by which 916 were put in quarantine.

Also he stressed that people should restrain from traveling at the time being.

Kuwait suspended on Saturday all flights to and from Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Bangladesh, Philippines, India, and Sri-Lanka for a week starting on Saturday, Kuwait’s civil aviation directorate said in a tweet.

Kuwait also banned entry of anyone who has been in the seven countries in the last two weeks except for Kuwaitis coming from the seven countries, who will be allowed entry but will have to submit to quarantine procedures, the civil aviation directorate added.
